Red Diamond Scholarship Gala
The Richland County Alumnae Chapter (RCA) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporate, hosts an annual fundraiser known as the Red Diamond Scholarship Gala on the first Friday in June. The inaugural scholarship gala, known as RCA Holiday Gala, was held in December 1995. Following the success of the first gala, RCA set out on a purpose to grow our community outreach and impact. Today, the Red Diamond Scholarship Gala is the chapter’s signature fundraising event. With the support of our community partners, friends and family, RCA has awarded nearly $200,000 to deserving high school seniors and college students.
What started as a Holiday Gala in December of 1996 has morphed into a much anticipated annual gala driven by purpose. Members of Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta SigmaTheta Sorority, Inc. were driven by their mission to raise funds for scholarships and to support the programs, projects, and causes in the communities we serve.
As a Chapter with over 300 members, our goal remains the same. We would be honored to have your support for this year's Gala by way of purchasing an access link and/or your generous donation as a sponsor. Please visit the Chapter's Facebook or Instagram pages for more information.
The Covid-19 Pandemic threatened to disrupt fundraising efforts in 2020, but with ingenuity and a focused mission on helping deserving students in our service areas, RCA created a virtual gala experience like no other. The Virtual Red Diamond Scholarship Gala raised $20,000 in funds allowing the chapter to award $21,250 in scholarships for 2021.
In the spirit of ingenuity, the chapter will again host the Second Virtual Red Diamond Scholarship Gala on Friday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m.
Join us for an evening of elegance and entertainment by the incomparable "She-Jay", DJ T.O. and Season 18 Finalist of NBC's The Voice, Cam Wess. We look forward to sharing this Zoom'sational Experience with you virtually, wherever you are!
